MK6 Image Leak
As this first screen from Mortal Kombat: Deception seems to prove, Baraka Lives! Information inside.

February 11, 2004 - With special thanks to world's largest Mortal Kombat fansite Mortal Kombat Online, the very first image from the upcoming multiplatform sequel Mortal Kombat VI was anonymously unveiled earlier this afternoon.

Sent to the website by a source close to the project, the hi-res image of an angry Baraka already shows an advanced level of detail when compared to 2002's fighting hit Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. And while there's definitely been debate among fans throughout the online community as to whether or not the capture is that of a render or a screenshot, the fact remains that the image appears to be legitimate. Or at least that's what MKO webmaster Scott Howell confirmed with us when we spoke with him earlier today.

"We received the first image from an anonymous source in bitmap form late last night," Howell said. "In the morning, the source had sent us a second image of Baraka in a bigger, clearer JPG format and told us to enjoy it and not to ask any questions. The letter also said that there will be more to come in the near future and to be on the look out for it.

He continued "We wanted to make sure that the image was real before we posted it on our site, so we got a hold of two different sources that were close to the project and they confirmed that the image was real."

This image is the second bit of news regarding Mortal Kombat VI in the last week. As Midway officially registered the domain names mkdeception.com and mortalkombatdeception.com on February 6; hinting at the official title once the announcement has been made.

To get the publisher's side of the story, IGN contacted Midway Entertainment for comment. But when we posed the question of whether or not the image was real or if Mortal Kombat: Deception was the official title, we were met with the ever-popular "No Comment" to both questions.

We'll keep you updated with more information as it becomes available.

That picture's fuckin' amazing.  Somewhere (maybe on the game itself?) I saw a video of the making of MK5, the team they have at Midway that does this stuff is amazing.  I'm sure MK6 will be awesome.  I remember when 2 came out, I was really big in the arcades then, that was the greatest game of all time, excitement wise.  We were really really into it.

Hopefully there'll be more creative fatalities. That's the only thing MK:DA lacked. Everything else was cool.

Yeah, I liked all of DA except the lack of fatalities.  I think they felt they had relied on that gimmick too long, so they got the rest of the game perfect, but then it stuck out like a sore thumb that there weren't very many fatalities.

"Yeah, I liked all of DA except the lack of fatalities.  I think they felt they had relied on that gimmick too long, so they got the rest of the game perfect, but then it stuck out like a sore thumb that there weren't very many fatalities"

exactly ...I remember when I bought MK3 and MK4 and the first thing i thought was "I wonder what are the fatalities like?"
they did the right decision for MKDA which was a rebirth for the series , they created some buzz by killing off Shao Khan and Liu Kang (though I think he might come back in the body of Kano which I'm gonna talk about in a bit) then they concetrated more on the quality of the fighting system so they could compete with games like Tekken and Soul Calibur 2 , even though I miss the old fatalities it was the right decision at the time.

things that interest me in this game:
-the dragon King:he's just a complete "???????????"

-Liu Kang might come back in the body of Kano which would be interesting to see as Sonya AND Mavado would go after him while he goes after the dragon king

-Scorpion :what's his role gonna be?as he's my favorite character

-Drahmin/Quan Chi: for some reason I think that when Drahmin and Quan Chi started to fight in one of the endings and Drahmin came out in his human form it was because Quan Chi somehow possessed him
just and idea

-the Lin Kuei/Red Dragon war is probably gonna play a big role: as shang tsung (or was it quan chi)warned Mavado about the danger of the Lin Kuei to his clan , maybe there will be a "Mavado/Sektor" alliance sine Sektor has his robot clan and is one of Sub Zero's worst enemys

so PSYCHED!!!

^ I don't know why people think they're cinemas, Mk:DA looked almost that good, Midway always goes overboard with their graphics.  MK1's graphics were groundbreaking, MK2's graphics were groundbreaking, Killer Instinct's graphics were groundbreaking, War God's graphics were groundbreaking, MK3's graphics were groundbreaking, MK4's graphics were groundbreaking, I thought MK:DA's graphics were groundbreaking, I fully expect the in-game graphics to look like the pic above.

I see what your saying but how much fucking in-game action are u expecting to be so good and a close-up of Baraka's face? if they do show a lot of close ups in the middle of the fight, I'm definitely not getting it.

ps. I know that wont happen.

6? Damn I'm far behind. I haven't played a Mortal Kombat game since #3. Guess I must be out of the loop for video games.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

the graphics are probably gonna be better than MKDA which is fuckin amazing BUT I think taht picture is probably CG , maybe from the intro video or something

also I THINK Midway leaked that pic to create a buzz because I doubt its a coincidence that the 1st picture leaked was a picture of one of the most popular MK caracters
