as soon as i get paid (tomorrow) im gonna go pick up the big box set...even though i already have the original DVD...and im on the lookout for that carlito's way dvd...the was one of the best al pacino movies i've seen...that shit was dope.

I dunno, looks pretty gimmicky to me.

First off, the movie was good. But was it THAT good? I'm kinda turned off since everybody and their brother is coming out of the woodwork on MTV saying its' their favorite movie. Also, the dvd to me didn't look like it had anything extra that I would be interested in enough to buy it. You might as well have the original, there's not much difference, as far as I saw. I mean, a current interview with Al Pacino would do it for me, probably, but the deleted scenes are probably just some short junk that doesn't make much difference anyways. And the box set, I have no desire to have a money clip like his, lol so I don't see the use.

Kinda does diminish the feel a litle bit.
like the wack Def Jam doc they added on the extra's with Idiot's talking about how great they think this movie is all of a sudden saying dumb shit like..."He's my idol".

Being a Scarface fan since as far back as I can remember..
I'm 27 years old, I grew up on this ish...I'm glad this movie is finaly getting' it's prop's and acclaim it deserves.
But on a side note, kinda disapointed in people claiming it to be their all-time, just cause it's the "Quote" poular thing.

it's in my top Pacino flix...such as
Panic in needle park
Godfather
Godfather II
Godfather III
Carlito's way
Dog's day afternoon
Serpico.....ect
at times it's the top one.

P.S. I'm one of those fucken must have type's homie..
even tho I have the:
Video
The laser disc
The "original" Dvd release
dubbed t.v. version (edited)
And yesterday's release...
I still need that Box set.

So I can use my Clip...lol

yea i heard its limited too...thats why im goin 2 get it in the next couple days...theres a few places that have it...if i cant find it ill wait and get it on ebay for like 200 bucks one day lol...but yea im gonna keep lookin for carlito's way on dvd...have you seen "and justice for all"?...thats one of my favorite al pacino movies...that shit was great.

well my dad has borrowed a few so im bugging him to watch em so i can have em back to watch again myself lol

why is CArlito's way hard to find ? its easy over here....unless they about to release a special edition (but i havent heard of that news yet)

...this thing is fucking dope...i cant wait to peep all the cool shit on the dvds (3 of the muthafuckaz!!!!!)...btw optical...i dont know about a special edition but there is a thing inside w/ the dvd advertising the carlito's way dvd...i just havent seen it around here...im sure its not toooooo hard to find. that would be cool if they came out w/ like a carlito's way box set though

Well, Universal MAJORLY botched the first version of this movie. The video was grainy, blotchy, and has some VERY serious compression artifacts. There were major scratches evident and it looked horrible. Same deal with the sound. I guess they fixed it up a bit in this release and it looks much better.

I'm going to be purchasing the big box set for the simple reason that it comes with the OG scarface from 1932.
