What's your opinion on Martin Luther?
« on: January 20, 2004, 05:52:12 PM »
I have a lot of respect for that guy. I was born a Lutheran before becoming a believer in Islam, but I never learned about this guy until recently. I think he had a lot of courage to point out all the hypocricies and corruptions in the church of the time.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

lol not Martin Luther King. I'm talking about Martin Luther, the German from like the 1400's. It's all good man.

I was just giving Doggy hell because he hasn't heard of Martin Luther.  I kind of feel bad now, though, because it was Martin Luther King day, lol so it was kind of easy to get confused I guess.

I don't know a TON about him, but I do have an opinion, although it might be an ignorant one.  I think yes, he was very brave.  However, I don't really see the importance of him as an individual, there were undoubtedly hundreds like him over the years who tried the same things, or thought the same things.  I guess he was more successful than them, though, so we can applaud that.

Yeah it is easy to get them confused, they do have similar names.

LOL, god this is too funny, i aint gonna hate, for a sec i though we were tlakin bout MLK jr, but yea, martin luther, despite me not believing in rleigion, is a fuckin hero, wat he did is so fuckin coragous to go against the chruch at that time, i think if it wasnt for him, the catholic church would get a lot worst over the years, its funny that present day protestants are beigning to look more like the catholics before martin luther...
