I havent heard "The W" yet but I doubt "Iron Flag" is better.

i think it was a good album. nothing special but still a solid cd. best tracks in my opinion are: i cant go to sleep, careful, let my niggas live and gravel pit.

Yeah, shit is wack. I too own the motherfucker; what a waste of money. Without a doubt Iron Flag is better than this, even though that one was far from solid.

It's a good album.  Hardly anything wrong with it actually.  It's also better than Iron Flag.

Thanks for mentioning this album, I need to pick an album to listen to at the gym and I haven't listened to this one in a while.

Yeah i definetly thought The W was garbage there was barely like 3 tracks i could listen to on there and the track with Snoop is among one of the worst on the whole album IMO. I think Iron Flag was alot better i can listen to that album the whole way through no problem.

I thought it was tight,

the intro song
"protect ya neck"
"let my niggaz live"
"do ya really"
"go to sleep"

are bangers, but yeah it lacks that energy that other albums got

i bought this when i was in orlando when it first came out, i was hyped up about it, i thought it was a good album, Iron Flag came out not that long after (well seemed like it), they shoulda made The W & Iron Flag a double disc album, maybe they would have sold more albums that way, i like Iron Flag also but The W had more bangers for me (it shoulda had that track from the "Next Friday" soundtrack on it).

Double disc? How about they just cut all the bullshit off both albums and make it a 12 track one disc album? That way it would have actually been worth copping 8)

The problem really wasn’t Wu's IMO it was LOUD for typical executive label bullshit that made the album sub par. They took a cue from the declining sales of individual Wu members and figured to make this album sell it needed something more, something like a ridiculous number of big name guest appearances ex: snoop, busta, redman, nas to make the album sell. I think that and the lack of memorable wu style hooks/themes is what made the album a disappointment. But as far as RZA goes I think he KILLED this album with the beats. I read an interview of his and he said he broke out all of his old equipment and produced everything from old stuff so the sound quality wasn’t very good, just like 36 chambers real grimy sound. And if you look at those beats like Chamber Music, Click Click and hollow bones I mean whoa, those could have been leftover beats str8 from 36 chambers easily.

Iron flag suffered from the same thing but instead of the guest appearances, which they must have realized didn’t work, they had wu bring in outside producers?!? I mean seriously when we talk about the labels getting involved and fucking things up what better example can think of?

If you want to make a real classic post-wu-Forever mix cd I would do something like this:

1)   Intro (Iron flag) (not the song afterwords) 0:44
2)   Click Click (The W)
3)   Rules (Iron Flag)
4)   Let My Niggas Live (The W)
5)   Hollow Bones (The W)
6)   One Blood Under Wu (The W)
7)   Radioactive (Iron Flag)
8 )   Pinky Rings [uzi] (PROMO version, non album)
9)   Black Widdow pt. 2 (Digital Bullet) (ODB solo prod. By rza)
10)   I Cant go to Sleep (FULL Merged track, The W)
11)   Do you Really (The W)
12)   Back in the Game (Iron Flag)
13)   Iron Flag (Iron Flag)
14)   ‘Brought the Glock (Hidden track, Iron Flag)
15)   Interlude – Shaolin finger jab (The W)
16)   Chamber Music (The W)
17)   Ya’ll been Warned (Iron Flag)
18)   Babies (FULL merged w/intro track, Iron Flag)
19)   Interlude – Check Check Ya’ll (GZA solo), (Hidden track, Iron Flag)
20)   Protect Ya Neck Jump Off (The W)
21)   The W (European bonus track, The W)
22)   Jah World (The W)

---Other Considerations---
Fast Shadow - (Ghost dog stk) Rza, Odb, meth, u-god, mastakilla
Doe Ra Wu – (Killa Beez Pt. II) Rza and ODB
Killa Beez – (Killa Beez Pt. II) Rza, u-god and Deck
What You In Fo’ – (OZ Stk) Rza, Methodman, Streetlife, Raekwon
The Abduction – (Tony Touch album) Gza, Rza, Ghostface, Masta, Deck
The Turn – (Tical the prequel) Methodman and Raekwon prod. By Rza
I Want Pussy – (Nigga Please) Odb prod. By Rza
Spot Light – (The Problem) Meth, u-god, deck, cappadonna prod. By Mathematics

I got the album above on a cd i could upp in mp3 if anyone wants lemme know
