2345: Danny Murphy seals his move to Tottenham with just minutes to spare. The 28-year-old midfielder moves to White Hart Lane in a deal worth up to £2m.

2320: Robert Earnshaw passes his medical at Norwich and completes a £3.5m transfer from West Brom. The Wales international striker agrees a three-and-a-half-year deal at Carrow Road.

2316: Hearts complete the signing of French goalkeeper Rais M'Bolhi. The 19-year-old agrees to join the Tynecastle club on an initial six-month deal after leaving Marseille.

2301: Into the final hour now but there is still time for clubs to conclude any 11th-hour transfers.

2230: Just 90 minutes until the window closes and BBC Sport understands that Charlton midfielder Danny Murphy could be on his way to Premiership rivals Tottenham.

Charlton boss Alan Curbishley reveals after his side's 0-0 draw against West Brom that "something could happen" between now and midnight but if it does it would be "of Murphy's making".

Time will tell whether any deal will go through.

2212: Hibernian sign striker Paul Dalglish from Livingston on an 18-month deal for a nominal sum, with Sam Morrow switching the other way.

Hibs also reject two offers from Rangers for striker Derek Riordan - and a further two bids from overseas - but the player will not consider a move abroad.
 
2152: Arsenal allow striker Jeremie Aliadiere to join Championship side Wolves on loan after his unsuccessful stint with West Ham.

He will remain at Molineux until the end of the season.

2000: The evening's four Premiership matches are all underway and the transfer news begins to die down.
 
1917: Birmingham wrap up the surprise signing of Brentford striker DJ Campbell for £500,000 rising to £1m. Campbell has agreed a three-and-a-half year deal until 2009.

1855: The striker Birmingham are chasing can be revealed as DJ Campbell, the Brentford FA Cup hero.

1842: BBC Sport can reveal that Rob Earnshaw is on the Norwich team bus on the way to their game at Reading. He has not signed yet, but is set to complete his move later, and is already getting to know his new team-mates.

1804: West Brom accept a £3.5m bid for striker Robert Earnshaw from Norwich. The deal would see the Baggies receive a guaranteed £2.75m with the remainder dependent upon appearances.

1751: Birmingham boss Steve Bruce is understood to be closing in on a striker from the lower divisions. 

1715: West Brom manager Bryan Robson signs Uruguay defender Williams Martinez on loan with a view to a permanent move from Sporting Defensor.

1654: Blackburn boss Mark Hughes strengthens his forward line with a double signing. Liverpool striker Florent Sinama Pongolle joins on loan until the end of the season, while Arsenal forward David Bentley signs for an undisclosed fee.

He also signs teenage defender Martin Olsson for a nominal fee from Swedish club Hogaborgs BK.

1651: It emerges that young Arsenal striker Quincy Owusu-Abeyie has joined Spartak Moscow for an undisclosed fee.

1605: Rory Delap passes his medical at Sunderland and completes his free transfer from Southampton.

1551: Kilmarnock bring in 24-year-old Eric Skora - who spent four months on loan at the club in 2004 - from Preston until the end of the season, and also sign defender Lindsay Wilson on loan from PSV Eindhoven.

1545: Blackburn boss Mark Hughes says he still has hopes of making "one or two" signings before the transfer window shuts at midnight, with a permanent signing of on-loan David Bentley thought to be in his sights.

1531: Leicester striker Mark de Vries joins Dutch side Heerenveen on loan with a view to a permanent transfer.   

1508: Fulham take Spurs midfielder Michael Brown to Craven Cottage after two years at White Hart Lane.

1500: Hearts make another big move in the transfer market, signing four new players.

Bosnia winger Mirsad Beslija, 26, joins from Racing Genk on a three-and-a-half year deal. Jose Goncalves, 21, and Bruno Aguiar, 24, are on loan from FBK Kaunas.

Juho Makela signs from HJK Helsinki.

1431: West Ham look to have missed out on Barcelona midfielder Gabri, who has opted to stay with the Spanish champions until the end of the season despite reportedly holding talks with West Ham.

"After much consideration, my final decision is to remain at Barca," said the 27-year-old.

1354: Tottenham add to their squad with the signing of Egyptian midfielder Hossam Ghaly on a four-and-a-half year contract.

The 24-year-old moves to White Hart Lane from Dutch side Feyenoord.

1332: Rangers' bid for Hibs striker Derek Riordan is rejected because it does not meet the Easter Road club's valuation of the player.

1258: Charlton striker Jonatan Johansson, 30, moves to Norwich on loan until the end of the season.

1246: Premiership strugglers Sunderland agree a two-and-a-half year free transfer for 29-year-old Southampton midfielder Rory Delap, subject to a medical.

1220: Motherwell recruit former Monaco striker Abel Thermeus from French side Creteil-Lusitanos.

1212: Portsmouth's rumoured interest in Argentina midfielder Andres D'Alessandro, 24, turns out to be true as they seal a loan move until the end of the season.

1205: Fulham defender Zesh Rehman, 22, joins Norwich on loan until the end of the season with an option of an extension should the Canaries reach the play-offs.

1140: Aston Villa boss David O'Leary joins the list of Premiership managers who say they have no deadline day deals up their sleeves.

1130: Portsmouth are being linked with yet more transfer window deals, with Argentina midfielder Andres D'Alessandro rumoured to be joining on loan from Wolfsburg.

Meanwhile, Serbia-Montenegro international Zvonimir Vukic is reported to be returning to Partizan Belgrade after failing to settle at Fratton Park.

1100: Newcastle boss Graeme Souness, who snapped up Michael Owen on deadline day in the summer transfer window, says he has no money to add to his squad and will not be making any signings.

1029: Wigan boss Paul Jewell says midfielder Josip Skoko - the only player he has received any enquiries about - has rejected the chance of moving to Stoke on loan.

0859: Middlesbrough chief executive Keith Lamb says his club are highly unlikely to add to their squad on transfer deadline day. 

0843: Southampton's 19-year-old central defender Matthew Mills joins Manchester City in a three-and-a-half year deal.
