The best "Grown Up" rap you've heard that deals with grown issues?

I think the song is called "trying".

I have a song burnt on a disc, but I don't know who it is.

The song says to a group of kids...

"People are you ready/
---Yes we're ready,
Are you ready to carry some wieght?
---We want to be ready"

...anyway, this is a song that represents coming of age, and just being a grown man.  And still the track is really dope. 

What are some other songs comparable to this one?

Ah man, you gotta know who that is! That's the fabulously incredible De La Soul, the song features Cee Lo on the hook.

Yeah, that's a great song.  I'd say that's one of the best 'grown up' rap songs I've heard, definately.  Testament to Plug One's underratedness as an mc.

O.K., I got that all fucked up.  First, that's not the song with Cee Lo, and second, that's Dave, not posdynous.  Still a great song, though.

Honestly, this may suprise people, they think cause I'm a Muslim I listen to Muslim rappers all the time.  But really, this may be the first De La Soul song I've ever played in my stereo.  And I didn't even know that it was De La Soul until you told me.

You should download as much possible De La Soul as you can.  Get "Stakes Is High".  They're unbelievable.
