n'impote quoi. fuck man, you are looking for things to complain about. older people are more mature, thats a fact, they also work harder, they are experienced in life, unlike young people that like to party hard and be lazy... you should be happy about the bill, but hey, if you are a shitty worker, then yeah ofcourse it would piss you off. some of you french people mis-interpret the whole "liberty" notion... you got way too much up your ass.to me it looks like you are just looking for shit to complain about, without fully understanding what is happening and the works of an economy. that is why OLDER people made these decisions, because in general young people have limited and naive understanding.
^ i'm not american... and i know french people that are disgusted with the protests... they feel ashamed to be french... and GENERALLY speaking, older people are more mature, they are more experienced, thats it. you goto be missing a chromozone to think the bill is hurting the country.

^ i'm a hard worker, if it means i will find work easier because more employers are willing to take the risk to hire me.. then YES i want bill ! 2 years isnt a long time ! plus if you survive in the work-force during that time, dont you think it would look good on a resume ?look at the bigger picture.
and theyre not organised thugs... they are 15 year old kids smashing up cars.

This just proves how worthless the French are. That is what happens when you live in a left wing, socialist country. All the restrictions they have on employement are killing their economy. Look at their economic growth rates and unemployment rates compared to the US....the American economy blows their economy out of the water. The French government has finally woken up and tried to make their economy more modern like the US but unfortunately these French youths don't like it. But in the long run, their government has to make changes in order to become more competitive with the erest of the world. The reason the unemployment rate is so high in France is because no companies want to hire people that the government tells them they won't be able to fire.

"Surviving" 2 years in a company looks good on the resume, yes, but that doesn't mean that you need to accept to be stripped for your rights! Stand up and be a man!Quote from: Chief on March 30, 2006, 07:00:31 AMand theyre not organised thugs... they are 15 year old kids smashing up cars. There's been reports of organized "professional protesters" travelling around and organizing riots through phone, and other funny business, it's far from just 15 year old kids, dunno what news story you been watching. But still: Not defending the protests, I'm defending workers rights, you sound to be more concerned about the companies.
Quote from: Lincoln on March 29, 2006, 05:19:47 AMFrom what I understand, it makes it easier to fire youth workers within a grace period right? That's a good idea! Employers don't want to hire youth because of the risks involved, this takes that risk down. If you're a good worker you shouldn't have to worry I wouldn't think.Did you read it properly, or just skim through it ?They want to strip young people for the same rights "normal" workers got, make it possible to give young people 2 year trial contracts, and if they're not 100% satisfied with them, they can basically fire them for almost any given reason. Did you know that 20% of all workers between 18 and 25 years in France are unemployed ? (Twice the percentage as the rest of the population)The new law will raise the percentage of unemployed youths.

Two things socialists hate about capitalism:1. You have to work.2. You only get paid what you're worth.
france is always on strike or rioting over something their government is weak and will nearly always cave in eventually.
