WWE IS BRINGING BACK ECW AS A FULL TIME ENTITY, MAKING PLANS TO SIGN TALENT FROM THE GLORY YEARS FOR NEW VENTURE
by Dave Scherer @ 2:56:00 PM on 4/23/2006

WWE has made the decision to bring back Extreme Championship Wrestling as a full time entity and has begun talking with former ECW talent about returning to work for the new version of the legendary promotion. As of right now, WWE is targeting a September return for the promotion. No decision has been made as to exactly how the company will be brought back yet. It's possible that it will take over the present OVW territory, that it will be a promotion that gets matches on the Raw and/or Smackdown promotions or possibly in some other manner. Sources have told us that Paul Heyman and Tommy Dreamer will be booking ECW when it starts up.

WWE has already contacted a number of ECW wrestlers and contracts will be sent out to them this week. The talents are being offered three year deals which consist of a series of one year contracts, with rollover clauses. A number of wrestlers have been contacts so far. We can confirm that WWE has talked with The Sandman, Francine and Balls Mahoney and will be sending contracts out to them this week.

We will have more information on this story later today or tomorrow.

This is smart by the McMahons if it's true. I guess they finally stopped letting their egos interfere with their business sense.

This should of been done in 2001/2002. Instead of starting garbage football leagues and killing off your competition in order to boost your ego, they should of continued building up their former competition and provide more variety for the fans. They can't lose. The more competition they build between the companies they own, the more revenue they make for themselves.

Hittman is not a real person. He was a computer program generated by Dr. Dre and Mel Man back in the mid 90's. When Dre started treating Mel-Man like shit, Mel infiltrated the computer and put a virus in the hittman program

As reported here earlier, news has broken that WWE is planning on bringing back the ECW brand as a regular, full-time promotion later this year.

More information has become available regarding this major story:

* The official decision to bring ECW back was said to be finalized in the last week or so.

* WWE is not looking to add a third day to their television schedule. Dave Meltzer reports that it would likely be handled similar to the Superastros deal in the late 90s, with weekly matches taped before either the Raw or Smackdown tapings.

* The ECW roster will feature a mix of both former ECW personalities and new WWE developmental wrestlers who have been working house shows under Paul Heyman. There are several members of the TNA roster that have been talked about as being prime candidates for ECW contracts when the time is right.

* Paul Heyman he will be in charge of the ECW brand, who will be booking, along with Tommy Dreamer. The McMahons are not believed to be part of the creative process.

* The plan is to run house shows and some form of weekly television as well as well. Should ECW secure regular television time, expect Joey Styles to be involved.

* As of now, there are two ECW PPVs scheduled - One Night Stand 2 (June '06) and One Night Stand 3 (June '07). It is quite possible there will be more ECW PPVs added to their annual lineup when the promotion goes full-time

Terry Brunk better known as Sabu has officially signed a WWE contract last night.
Sabu was currently working for TNA Wrestling and is better known for his appearances with ECW in the 1990’s.

The contract which Sabu signed with WWE will last for one year with an option to renew the contract at the end of the year’s deal.

This near enough confirms that Sabu will be appearing at the ECW One Night Stand II this year. More details will be available soon. Sabu’s website can be reached at www.officialsabu.com.

As long as it is true that Paul Heyman is doing the booking and the McMahons stay the F out of it it has the potential to be superb

This is the best news concerning the WWE in a long long time

New Jack has a lot of legal issues which is why he wasn't at One Night Stand last year. He's only allowed in a few states & New York is one of the states he's not allowed in.

The new Jack stuff is for tons of different reasons that guys been in trouble everywhere and every possible thing you can think of from being banned from arenas to stabbing people to being unfit to wrestle in some states to having outstanding warrants to fuckin' everything short of murder or rape.
