Computer Problem - Please Help

Everytime i turn on my computer, it turns off, then i try again, it turns off again, i try about 3 times then it finally stays on.....why?
what the fuck is up?

my guess would be a virus....might want to do a scan, also you could be wearing it out, give it time to rest. and try to do a disk clean up also, and try to get rid of programs your not using.

Open the muthafucka up and check that all the components are in place and none have been fried up. Sometimes they come loose for no apparent reason. If something is broken - replace it with a new one. Don't even bother taking it somewhere wo be fixed, 'cause they won't.

If you can't find anything with your own eyes, take it to some store that does computer maintenance.

EDIT: Just to clarify - does the power come on at all? Any fans spinning, lights blinking, anything?

computer doesnt start up how? does it load windows? does it shut down before that?

^^^naw, it powers up, looks like it loads windows, goes to the log on screen (sometimes before the log on screen) and then just shuts off - it does this 2 or 3 times before i can even get it to work normally. then the computer runs fine.

exactly. after that, go down to boot in safe mode (no networking). this will load windows baseline system, allowing you to troubleshoot, etc much easier than you could running windows normally. once windows loads in safe mode, run a virus detection app. after that, clean up the spyware, i usually use AdAware (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/win/18348). works like white on rice. if you have anymore Q's just hit me back.

once you get it going goto run in the start menu, then type msconfig then ok
got to the start up tab and make sure there isnt any weird programs running when it boots up.

This happened to mine years ago... it was the motherboard dying apparently . Kept trying to start up but got there like once every 10 goes... I ended up having to just leave it on 'cause I needed it for uni work.

this happend to me last year for 6months my comp would just randomly shut off anyways a few virus scans and a reformatting later i opened the fan was covered in an inch of dust, comp kept overheating so it would shut off, if this is the case you gotta buy a can of condensed air prolly from staples or any other similar stores... if this aint the case then i dunno
