lol you act like jigga that nigga hola hovito and izzo didn't exist on the blueprint

pop songs on album- jay-z has 3 times more pop songs on his album than nas

you act like jigga didn't bite

snoop, e-40, biggie and a slew of others on his album

you act like jay-z's disses weren't immature

lol @ got yourself a gun being the best track...lol this just SHOWS why you don't get respect on the board

well jake...it dependz on what you define as pop songz...?
....izzo iz a certain party jam yea(beatwise)....and you might diss tha beat of izzo that you don"t like (btw...it"z pretty dicent) so much...but as for lyricz...damn...you act like jigga iz tha only person in tha game who spittz all kinds of self proclaimin stuff....i didn"t see any of yall trippen over "x" ...
yes musicly and lyricly "jigga that nigga" iz da worst song on blueprint....but it"z only cauze it"z mediocre....tha rest of tha shit iz top notch...."hola hovito" iz an exelentlly produced and containz jigga"z sharp rhyme spitten....i know dat many of yall hate it cauze of dat shit jigga sayez "if i ain"t btter than big..." etc. but it shouldn"t be a motive for ya hate....
i noticed somethin" intrestin in yo reviewz jake...when NAS does a track bout an unclearly defiend topic(imo he does it even on what yall might consider social comentarry...but it"Z my opnion...HE HAVING A HARD TIME LYRICLY CONSANTRATING imo) ...you call it a free association eastcoast gangsta rap....but when jigga iz spittin some self procalaimin shit or some biographical shit...you dissin it (i ain"t even gonna say that tha topicz should be tha rapperz" choice and that we can"t hate cauze of topicz...but hey)...imo...jigga iz two advanced lyricly for anyone to call him poppy....there iz rapperz that rely on catchy hookz and party beatz to take tha focus of their lack of lyrical skillz....jigga iz far from being like that...hiz lyrical skillz iz too high quallity.
my opinion.

PEACE.

I copped the Blueprint, & yes I do enjoy it, but it wasn't worth 5 mics. The way I see it, Jigga can never match what Nas achieved with Illmatic, & imo It Was Written is even a better album than The Blueprint. Jigga is just an average rapper, whereas Nas is a lyracist.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

jigga...average rapper?...alow me to dissagree man...while nas waz going through what i like to call ....clearin up all tha misunderstandingz and legendz dat tha (one time) classic ILLMATIC created...destroying any image of a lyrical masaiah dat ILLMATIC  could"ve created, jigga waz making quallity albumz (in ecseption of tha radiculous vol2)...now you might say he iz a lyricist...and of course he iz....but tha only thing that i can understand when peepz prefering him to jigga iz 2 reasonz:
1.tha jigga hating syndrom...that we all came to know in tha period dat followed vol2(reachin mainstream/ crossover sucsess)
2.prefering NASz unbelievable, siquel to RAKIM, vocalz.

i"d like to think that many peepz on this board who r at least in my opnion recognized headz tend to blow up tha second...but it iz not alwayz true. yes nas soundz just like tha 80z lyrical god RAKIM....but neither in hiz lyricz (in exception of ILLMATIC) nor in tha consistency of topical focus iz he on a par wit RA....and tha same goes if you truelly compare him to jigga.....
besidez tha lyrical complexity in what jigga overspittz NAS like a camel (ha ha...hiz lipz...yea i know...:) ), he iz 100 times more consistent both in hiz effortz overall and in hiz stickin to tha main ideaz of hiz trackz...regardless of tha theme/topic of tha track.
but hey if you prefer sonic quallity (what iz tipical for beat listinerz) and you prefer NASz vocalz over jigga"Z unbelieveable rhyme crafting and structuring. than be my guest.

p.s  don"t hate jigga cauze of VOL2 ...yes he needed hiz break into tha mainstreem...i"m almost sure he waz desperate...he put out 2 solid albumz and no one even bothered to recognize tha tellant...so he kinda sold hiz unic ablities for once...for tha mighty buck. i waz dissapointed as well....but after vol3 i waz healed.
We are all human beings isn't that a good enough reason for peace?

basically i put it this way:

nas

illmatic 6/5
it was written 4.25/5
i am 3.5/5
nastradamus 2.5/5
stillmatic 4.5/5

jay-z

RD 4.25/5
vol 1. 4/5
vol 2. 1.5/5
vol 3. 2/5
dynasty 2.5/5
blueprint 4/5

jay-z could never fuck with nas imo they both have their own unique style but jay-z has never been able to be on nas's level

2pac's lyrics are studied at Universities.  Eminem's lyrics were used in one class a teacher had on Cliche's.  John Lennon's music is studied at University's because it's social commentary on the mindset of the people living in the 60's.  Just like Nas's music offers a compelling look into the mindstate of today's culture.

Jay Z has put only two exceptional albums [Reasonable Doubt, Blueprint] and ONE good album [Vol.1]. Those are his three best albums, but they dont measure up to Illmatic, Stillmatic, and IWW..........Vol.2, Vol.3, and The Dynasty were all TRASH albums from Jigga. Nas had only one trash album [Nastradamus]. All these factors, combined with the fact that Nas is a superior lyricist/story-teller, make him a far better MC than Jigga is.

its obvious that igeezy rides jayz and hates nas...he is claiming that only illmatic and stillmatic were hot?? what about it was written??? what about half of i am?? and then he has the nerve to say that jiggas only weak cd was vol.2?? i dont know...everyone has their own opinion but if you go verse for verse...track for track...or cd for cd in my opinion nas comes out on top

well imo...IWW waz NASz first and big dissapointin factor....not only he lacked that amazing magical spark...that ILLMATIC had....it made (ALONG WIT "i am" and "nastradamus") it look like a quincedence....a one time sucsess...
and as for VOL3 and FAMILIA...
vol3 iz a defenite 4.5....imo...and FAMILIA iz a 4 or a 4.25 (check tha review of FAMILIA i"ve put on tha REVIEWZ board...it"z from a very objective reviewer...that i personally respect alot as a writer.)...
i can go track for track....but it ain"t needed, tha overall quallity of tha albumz iz far superior to NASz atemptz.

i just find it funny that you can call "it was written" a big disappointment and then in the same post say that "vol. 3" was a definite 4.5.  Let's be honest when you come out with one of the greatest albums ever (illmatic) you're next album will most definitely be a step below....it happens to almost everyone (big jay snoop rae gza).  "it was written" might not have been as good as illmatic but is "vol. 3" as good as 'reasonable doubt"??? i dont think so.

first of all i dont need your review cause i have all his albums...so im not hating...first of all most of those songs you named were tight but "anything"????? that song was hot gahbage.......second of all you left out all the average songs like "things that u do" and "big pimpin" and the garbage like "s.carter" and "pop 4 roc"....im not hating on vol.3 it is better than vol.2 and probably about 4 mics but definitely not anymore than that....
