Snoop and D.O.C. wrote alot for Dre on the Chronic after that Snoop did not write as much for Dre. I remember Snoop was saying that he was surprised that Eminem wrote for Dre. Under estimated Eminem as a song writer at first

he gets written for but they're not "ghostwriters," they get paid their fair share of publishing and all that.

I heard that RBX helped with the lyrics on The Chronic, especially "Let Me Ride".

'Let them ride, cause I wrote that for Dre..' (RBX- 'Out wit da Old', 'No Mercy,No Remorse')

RBX definately did write for Dre on The Chronic, and I'm sure Rage, Kurupt and Daz did too.

Z knows about ALL your inner conflicts..

Kurupt has written for him before, and I think Knoc and Bad Azz did too on 2001. Bad Azz has pictures in the 2001 insert sittin behind the boards with Dre, so my guess is he wrote a verse or 2 for that album.

Naaw, Bad Azz wrote lyrics for "Just Dippin" he even said it in a interview...

lol, theres a vid of him wearing a toga somewhere on dubcc ::) anyways....

yeah i agree, ghostwriting, or even what dre does, is pretty lame... hes either really horrible at writing songs, or hes just lazy as hell :-\

heres all of the writers on The Chronic, straight from the sleeve...

the chronic intro - snoop, dre, colin wolfe
fuck wit dre day - dre, snoop, colin wolfe
let me ride - rbx, snoop
day the niggaz took over - dre, rbx, snoop, daz
nuthin but a g thang - snoop
deeez nuuuts - dre, daz, snoop, colin wolfe, nate
lil ghetto boy - snoop, doc
nigga witta gun - doc, snoop
rat tat tat tat - dre, snoop
$20 sack pyramid - dox, snoop, dre
lyrical gangbang - kurupt, rbx, rage, snoop, dre, doc
high powered - dre, rbx, colin wolfe
doctors office - dre, kevin lewis, jewell, rage
stranded on death row - kurupt, rbx, rage, snoop
the roach outro - rbx, rage, daz
bitches aint shit - dre, colin wolfe, snoop, doc, kurupt, daz

of course, this is just the book... alot of dre's credits were probably just given to him to make him look good

these writing credits also include the musical side of the song... Dre get credit for the beat, Colin Wolfe get credit for the bass-line etc.

^ even today its not "always" the same.. there is no standard.

the same also applies for samples used.

they dont _have_ to credit anything in the booklets legally in any way shape or form _unless_ it was part of a contracted agreement etc.. for example with a sample that its ok to use as long as the sample credit is used. this is why not all samples are creditted.. not because people are trying to hide that its a sample.

so its not a legally binding thing.. many mistakes are made in album sleeves..

and "ghostwriting" really ISNT what dre does.. because its not a secret. just likehow in the 60s many songs recorded by dylan were recorded using "pop formulas" and sold massiively..  .e.g. Peter, Paul & Mary - Blowin in the wind, The Byrds - Mr. Tambourine Man and many many more.. you'd be amazed how many.. this wasn't an uncommon thing back then, but is now - sort of..

once you start to look outside rap you realise that EVERYTHING even the 'licks' that rap borrows from rock etc are more often than not borrowed from older songs.. its a rock tradition to update older songs.
