Funny you mention this. I was thinking of putting together the 1st annual WCC Awards.

Every other time, people have picked their own choices. I think this time we should make an official ballot & vote through PM so that way, nobody copies eachother, its anonymous, and the results are secret until the voting is complete. I got some ideas for categories, somewhere between 15-20 categories, and some input would be nice.

Anyways, I was thinking of doing it some time in late November - early December.

I think 20 categories is too much. 10 should be okay. I think voting through pms are a bad idea because they are too private, unless we were to pm a trusted user (Overseer for example). Everything should be kept public.

You could have stuff like:
best poster
funniest poster
most though provoking poster
best female poster
most informative poster
best porn poster
best rookie poster
An honorary award (can be a different category every time)
nicest/most helpful poster


And a thread for each category devoted for discussion, debate, and defending there nomination.
Makes for a good idea, Sik. But that just popped into my head. You could have been thinking of something completely different.

Yeah, 20 is way too many. 10 to 15 is sufficient.

The only problem with everything being public is it takes away the surprise of it which is half the fun. Also, people tend to go for the more popular vote in the polls so I'm pretty sure the same trend would happen for this. If it's by PM's, people will be more honest and will give their real opinion.

I'm down to do it, if I'm not trusted, then whoever everyone feels most comfortable to run it then it's fine by me. Here are some categories I've been thinking of (I've been brainstorming this for a little while, but kept it to myself) so we can see which of these are good or not:

No, the votes ultimately determine the winner of each category, but as a teaser, we reveal the people who got the top 3 or 4 votes out of however many people get votes.
