Huge Battle Royal Monday night on RAW with the winner Facing Cena for the title later that night! 3 HR SPECIAL!
saw it. Orton shoulda won that.

No, HBK should have
DX got handled BAD at the end of the night, and what about Joey Mercury's eye from Armageddon, wow he looked like he had a UFC battle
that might have set up something tight for WM this year. HBK vs Cena. With HBK in the a Heel role. In my opinon thats what he should be now anyway.

Yea Mercury earned his Stripes at the PPV Big time. They should give him some shine to see what he can do with it.

Yeah its a good example of how the WWE is today. Back then as popular and talented as Roddy Piper was he was never a world champ. Now they give the title to John Cena whos mic skills outshine his wrestling talent which he doesn't have much of anyway. And Edge who should only be a pre-main event class wrestler.
So damn TRUE. So damn trrue.

Carlito is being told to be more like the Rock. thats why he looks so crappy physically now. He is losing his heart for it cause idiots are booking shows now.

Well now the championship dosent get passed as much but its def whore around more then before i mean how guys like Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley are world champions is beyond me. Cena ok he was selling a lot and so on but common.

Lashley is the future of the business. I see him holding the big WWE title someday. Lesner was set up to be the future, and he was doing a good job of being built like the future, but he screwed himself.

I have to agree with some people that Perfect, Rude, Piper etc. were some of the greatest wrestlers without ever holding the big title but at the same time I think that they never needed it. Basically you put the title on an established superstar to add value to the title, which they should have done with Andre. Andre wouldn't have gained much notoriety/credibility by winning the title but the WWF title would have meant way more if Andre held it at one point. The other common method seems to be that they put the title on some guy to further his main event status. That's when you can tell someone is transitional champ or not.

Piper never needed a championship program with anyone, people loved/hated him whether he held a title or not so they rather kept the title scene open for others. Actually I'm glad that some of my favorite wrestlers never won the big one. Bret Hart for example always was my favorite wrestler from the HF days to his IC title days but then when he finally got to main event status along with the championship belt I never really enjoyed him as much as I did before.

Speaking of Luger, I read that he just didn't win the title at WM X cause he told everyone about it days before and WWF had to change their plans. Not sure if that's really the truth or just an excuse but you never know with Luger.

Looking at this video and remembering him from his face WWF days I'm so glad they put the title on Hart at WM X:

Martel was AWA World champion, which was bigger than ECW at any point. That title fit him more than NWA or WWF.
Von Erich should have been WWF champion, IF he had both legs. Rumor has it he had a fake leg in the WWF.
Venis, LMAO
Regal, I kind of see it, but he needs to get rid of the man boobs
Holly had his run at Lesner, but not a World title winner.

Some of the wrestlers that i've mentioned have been said before but heres part of my list

Ted Di Biase - He was great at carrying lesser wrestlers and should have been honoured at this with a run with the title

Mr Perfect - Knocking on the glass ceiling so often and deserved a run with the big belt

Rick Rude - Yeah he won the NWA International world title in WCW, but I thought that he should have taken the title from Ultimate Warrior in that cage match at SummerSlam 90

British Bulldog - A great wrestler who in the mid 90's was exceptionally popular around and a huge draw in the UK, should have won the title between 1992 & 1997

Kerry Von Erich - Not used that well in the WWE, had the IC title and had the look that Vince liked, but did WWE hold him back due to his well known drug problems and the medical problems that he had due to the crash that wrecked his leg

Vader - One of the best big man wrestlers that has been in wrestling IMO, done a great job in Japan and WCW with a great reputation.  With Vinces well know love for 'big man wrestlers' it was strange that he never got that mega push and a run with the belt

Dynamite Kid - If we are talking about pure wrestling ability then this man should be mentioned, a man who transformed a style of wrestling and an innovator of so many moves.  Was seen as a tag team specialist in WWE and was no doubt too small for Vince to give him a run with the belt, plus there was a wrestler called Hulk Hogan in the number one spot then

Ken Shamrock - Had the momentum, had the ability and got a push and the fans were behind him so what went wrong, he came so close but never seemed to break through the glass ceiling, was it to do with a lack of willingness from HBK to put Shamrock over?

its funny that you mention that because Kurt Angle came a little later and showed that a real dude could make money and blend.

In Shamrock's defense i think they it was both, they didnt know how to market him at that time and then perhaps some of the guys were unwilling to put him over.
