Nenad Krstic out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL

New Jersey Nets center Nenad Krstic will miss the remainder of the National Basketball Association season after suffering a torn left anterior cruciate knee ligament.

The Nets announced Saturday that the 23-year-old Serbian 7-footer was injured making a spin move during Friday's 99-95 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Krstic grabbed his knee and fell to the court. He left the arena on crutches.

"I went to spin, my knee twisted and I heard a pop," said Krstic, who will undergo surgery to repair the knee.

He finishes the campaign with averages of 16.9 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists over 25 games.

The loss could not come at a worse time for the Nets, who are only 11-15 and trail the Toronto Raptors by half a game for first place in the woeful Atlantic Division where the eventual winner might not be able to manage a .500 season.

Sucks, he was up-and-coming this season too...Nets need Brooklyn.
