Dr. Dre - The Day The Niggaz Took Over
« on: December 28, 2006, 04:48:56 PM »
"Ya see when niggaz get together
they get mad cause they can't fade us
Like my niggaz from South Central, Los Angeles
They found that they couldn't handle us"

Maybe a lil diss to Ice Cube?

BTW, damn Daz spits heat:

"Dem wonder why me violent and no really understand
For de reason why me take me law, in me own, hand
Me not out for peace and me not Rodney King
De gun goes - click, me gun goes - bang
Dem riot in Compton and dem riot in Long Beach
Dem riot in L.A. cause dem no really wanna see
niggaz start to loot and police start to shoot
Lock us down at seven o'clock, barricades us like Beirut
Me don't show no love cause it's us against dem
Dem never ever love me cause it's sport to break dem
and kill, at my own risk, if I may
to lay, to spray, with my AK, and put it to rest"

I don't think that's a diss. I think he's saying the "niggaz from South Central" are the ones that can't be handled.

But Dre Day disses Cube.

No, but I'm pretty sure this was a diss to Cube on "Let Me Ride"

Try to set me up for a two-eleven
Fuck around and get caught up in a one-eight-seven
but I don't represent no gangbang
Some niggaz like lynchin but I just watch them hang

Obviously Cube was down with Da Lynch Mob.

And Kurupt dissed him here as well on "Puffin On Blunts & Drinkin Tanqueray:

Fool, Death Row ain't +Lynchin+ and the Pound ain't +Mobbin+
We all don't give a fuck, run in your crib and start robbin
Throbbin, I'll break a nigga down in the 90's
Maxin at the Pound wit my doggs is where you'll find me

And thanks for the reminder - I haven't bumped The Chronic in a minute.  It's gettin a spin tomorrow.

cube was in the let me ride video, I don't think those are disses to him, I doubt he would be in the video with a diss to him

Good call on that one.  I don't remember exactly cuz it was like 13 years ago, but yeah Cube was in there.  But didn't they flip the lyrics when it was released as the single?  And maybe it wasn't a diss, but two references mentioning how they aren't with Lynchin & Mobbin.  Sounds like some subs to me.

Cube was picking his 'Fro, getting out of the bathroom full of girls and said "damn right it was a good day." This was done to show Dre and Cube was cool, even on a song that Dre dissed him. It wasn't a big diss, and their beef wasn't that real after Dre left Ruthless, it was a shot, and Cube being in the video squashed all beef rumors.

where did dre diss cube on dre day?

I always thought it was this part

"Then we gon creep to South Central
On a Street Knowledge mission, as I steps in the temple
Spot him, got him, as I pulls out my strap
Got my chrome to the side of his White Sox hat
You tryin to check my homey, you better check yo self
Cause when you diss Dre you diss yourself, MOTHERFUCKER"
IS DETOX NEXT? Don't think so.

Yeah, and Ice Cube had a record company called Street Knowledge Records at the time which was located in South Central.
