Jason Jones, of the Sacramento Bee, reports Oakland Raiders offensive coordinator John Shoop, once considered the front-runner for the team's head coaching vacancy, is not considered a candidate to replace Art Shell, according to a team source. "It doesn't make sense, any kind of sense," the source said. "It doesn't make logical sense, common sense or 50 cents."

u agree they should go after mooch? i dont see a better fit...

as of right now....i say WHY NOT. but if something else comes  along we should take it. my only thing is i don't want to just settle now with mooch when maybe a month or two down the line we can have someone better who becomes available.  but right now i'd be more than happy with mooch.

I dont see many coaches available better then Mooch and i wouldnt consider mooch as just SETTLING, nobody would have won in Detroit. And MArtz is a terrible HC. Great with X's and O's, but horrible at calling a game. He passes on 4th and 1 and shit like that, doesnt put any focus on defense and lets his ego get in the way..He should stick to offensive coordinator, and true whoever mentioned him getting exposed when Lovie left...In 2001 the Rams had the #2 defense in the NFL led by Lovie's cover 2..

No but really, I think they should leave Ryan as DC.  He's damn good at it.  Why not try Mooch?  He seems like a great candidate.  And fuck Mike Martz as a head coach.  Maybe an OC, but he's still way too reckless with the football, and he instills no discipline.

But the Raiders need a QB, and have some cancerous guys in Moss and Sapp.

I thnk Moss is a huge cancer, as far as Sapp he CAN be, but at least this past year he was VERY productive...

whys everyone so in love with Trestman? When he was the niners o-coord i thought he sucked...Steve Young was never a big fan either...
