Dan the Automator?  Producer of Deltron 3030?  I'm just now getting really into to Dell, (the funky homosepian) his style and vocab are incredible.  Del's Ice Cubes cousin, they're close but they don't do music together because they're styles are so different.

He is probably the best underground producer out (tied with Prince Paul & Alchemist).  He's an Asian dude from San Francisco (I think) and his style is totally different from anything I've ever heard.  Examples of his greatness include Kool Keith's Dr. Octagon LP, the Handsome Boy Modeling School LP (co-produced by Prince Paul), and The Deltron 3030 record he did with Del the Funkee Homosapien.  You may notice he's fond of concept albums, and he's damn good at them.

I recommend starting with "Dr. Octagonacologyst."  If you like RZA, it's not that far of a leap to Automator.  If you're mainly into west coast g-funk production, it will take a while to get used to Automator's style.  He also has his own record out on 75 Ark called "A Better Tomorrow," which is not as good as the other albums I mentioned in my opinion.

I consider el-p of company flow the best underground producer, or the best producer for that matter in hip hop. automator and el-p are doing an album together which will be out later next year, so check for that. el-p produced the cannibal ox lp just to let people know who he is.
