sometimes the goalie can make the whole team! it's like when the habs won the cup in 1986,it was because of Roy!!! even if the other team has more shots, outskate them bla bla bla and so on,remember THE GOALIE HAS THE LAST WORD  ;D

You guys are bugging out with this media hype...

The shots the Caps were taking were all from the outside.  If they weren't getting blocked by Gill or Gorges they were clean looks for Halak, easy saves for him.  There were no screens on any of the shots.  Everytime he had a shot the Habs collapsed to him to take care of any rebounds.   The PK also limited them to 1 goal in 30 attempts.  That's not something that can be shoulder onto just the goalie's play.

Caps don't know how to play when this happens, which is why you never saw any bodies in front of Halak, and no change of strategy from them.  I could count the number of times they dumped the puck in on one hand...

If he stole one game, it was game 6.   The better TEAM won, not the better individuals.

The play was dictated by washington not by montreal, time of possesion etc all were dominated by the caps.I dont know what games you were watching man but the canadiens were clearly outplayed in every aspect of the game except goaltending. The best penalty killer is always your goaltender and that was true of halak.I watched the games and your insanse if you think the canadiens were the better team in the series. They were outplayed and outclassed and halak stole the series with phenomal goaltending.

I dont care how the shots came, but when you get beaten in every category of the game statistically you are not the better team.A better team doesnt get outshot 132-66,thats laughable.

Come on man, you're Canadian, you should know the game by now...

It does matter where the shots come from, and it does not matter which categories you own over your opponent, except for the goals category.

Seriously, next time you watch a Nucks game or w/e you watch.  Start looking at the stats after each game, you'll be surprised how there is no trend or relation for shotblocks, shots, hits to the winning/losing team.  There are many different ways to win, thats the exciting part of the sport!

Halak was stellar, MTL had great D, and great PK.  Washington has no back-up plan for strong D and puck checking, their PK was horrible, and D in general was bad.

These are all team elements, not the basis of one player.

MTL as a whole won the series.

The stats matter they show who was the more dominant team, but all that can be negated by a hot goaltender.A team can be badly outplayed but it doesnt if the goalie is red hot and steals the game.Thats what halak did.A team can lose 3-0 but have been the better team on the night.Fluke goals happen all the time and the most deserving team isnt always the team that wins.

I actually watched that game.  So f'n funny seeing the chokepitals choked :) ;D  Congrats to the habs.  Hopefully that choke job humbled them bandwagon idiot craps fans & humbled T.O.vechkin.  Serves you right for treating Crosby like he's a child rapist.  Oh yeah, non craps fans act like that too >:(  And talking junk about teams who won cups as if they  suck.  Who would wanna act like fraudgers fans?  Talk like you won a bunch of championships when you actually won none.  But the habs played a good strategy.  Try to make someone else not T.O.vechkin beat them.

A team that lose 2-1 at home on a seven game... is not the deserving team to win.

If he stole one game, it was game 6.   The better TEAM won, not the better individuals.

Exactly.

it's not a question of who outplayed who,the question is who had the best strategy and guess what? we did and we won!  8)

So the strategy is to get outplayed, outworked, outchance and out shot and get lucky because your goalie is playing well?Thats not a strategy lol.
