Could be a good deal...

As opposed to Halak walking away, I don't think MTL were prepared to match the offers he was gonna get.

Blues gonna make noise this year, like the Kings did last year.

Eh,I thought the blues were going to be bigger this season but they totally regressed as a team.

Yeah me too. They had flashes in the pan, but started out really slow. I thought they started to turn it on in the later half of the season though, it was too late...

(Philadelphia, PA) - The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired the rights to one of the most sought after free agents-to-be on defense in Nashville Predators blueliner Dan Hamhuis.

On Saturday afternoon, the club announced it had traded defenseman Ryan Parent to Nashville for Hamhuis and a conditional pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Hamhuis is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, so the Flyers will try to sign him to a deal as soon as possible.

“Our intention is to get him signed prior to [July 1], and that is what our aim is at this point in time,” said Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren. “The sooner that we get going on trying to get this done, the better.”

"Obviously, it is sad to leave the Predators," said Hamhuis. "I spent some great years with them and it is great organization to be a part of. I've heard nothing but great things about the city of Philadelphia and the Flyers."

Very good stanley cup even though it didn't involve the pens or the wings. Looks like the nhl is on track, still needs a new commissioner. Congrats to the blackhawks, about time. Somebody's drought ended. I woulda preferred the flyers to win the cup since I was either 6 or 7 months old but I despised that thug pronger too much. Hopefully the core players of kane, toews & byfuglien will get more talked about. There is more to the league than crosby & t.o.veckhin. Buttwipe needs to stop making it a 2 player league.
