popularity doesn't necessarily come with being known.

eminem/50/south cats are more popular than snoop here at the moment yeah but snoop is a more well known rapper over-all.

Its hard to say who's the most known rapper in the world. Cuz its diffucult to say who's the most known rapper outside your own country.
But i think Eminem is the most know by people who didnt or dont listen to rap. Cuz you have to admit Em did a lot for rap.
But Snoop has been in the game for so long, so he probably got a more steady fanbase or people that know him. Anyone who starts to listen to rap
will automaticly come to Snoop.

But you cant forget about Pac either, cuz where ever you go in the world dont matter where, if you ask someone who is the greatest rapper of all times,
they will say Pac for sure.

I co-sign that. When I was in Italy last spring I had a bunch of euros asking me about Eminem and shit. Asking me who's the better rapper, him or 50.

Yep, I live in Italy.. only Rap fans know Snoop.
Eminem.. everybody knows him, number 1 without a doubt, because he's on tv and magazines a lot.

I don't know in America, but here the most famous ones are Eminem than 2Pac and 50 Cent.
