Big Pun's CAPITAL PUNISHMENT. Classic???

I wanna know what heads REALLY think about that album... As far as I'm concerned., Pun was very underrated in terms of full-fledge props. Of course, cats felt him but nobody really wanna put him up there with Biggie, Nas, Jigga, Em, Snoop and others. Well, I PUT Pun ABOVE the forementioned (with the exception of Nas) and right next to the "real greatests", Rakim, KRS, G Rap, Slick Rick, Pac, LL etc... Why? Coz CAPITAL PUNISHMENT is a muthafuckin' CLASSIC album, not just a masterpiece but a CLASSIC. First it was the dopest joint off '98 right next to Gangstarr's "Moment Of Truth". But here's the real TRUTH: it was the MOST IMPRESSIVE LYRICAL DISPLAY BY A SOLO ARTIST SINCE ILLMATIC, even more so than "Ready To Die" and "Cuban Linx" (which also are classics, no question). PUN ripped that album, I mean, RIPPED it from track 1 all the way to 24, commercial joints or not... And he had heavy contenders such as Black Thought, Prodigy, Fat Joe and Deck among others but he killed it. "Twinz" is one of the craziest remake ever (and I don't even like remakes for the most part). For some reason, the mainstream chose DMX and Jigga in 98 but even though I luv both of 'em, neither "Hell is Hot" nor "Hard Knock Life" can touch CAPITAL PUNISHMENT. Plus the critics sucked heavy dicks in 98 and they were all over Jigga and X instead of showin some real love to BIG PUN. I could go on forever, I luv Pun, he was the shit. So how do y'all REALLY rate CAPITAL PUNISHMENT???

The first Pun CD was mediocre.  And I thought the second one was crap.  Pun was okay but was overrated, mostly by the latino community that were obsessed w/ somebody to identify with and have as a leader for their hip hop.

i loved that album............ matter of fact i think imma snatch that off my shelf right now .........  as far as classic  hmmmm  yeah its an east coast classic ......... but when u talk about classics for the whole realm of hiphop u have to think of  Chronic , Ameriikkaz Most Wanted , The DOC , Public Enemy and so on  ,  so i dont know if  i could place Capital Punishment in that same category .........  
The joint with  Black Thought   "Super Lyrical"   =   str8 Classic Shit right there ............  produced by rockwilder  who  was brand new to the game back then .
