pretty dope interview...interesting to hear Joell talk about his failed deals and gettin down with Dre.  It sounds like when Dre signs an artist, they do it real classy...peep this nice feature here:

Yeah, unfortunately I think that's the main reason behind Dre signing Joel Ortiz. It's a shame though: I'd love to see a Joel Ortiz album being overlooked by the good Doctor. But I don't really see it happening though. Ortiz lacks that "mainstream appeal" in the eyes of the big bosses over at Interscope. Hopefully he WILL drop his debut on Aftermath though...would be interesting!

But even if he doesn't drop something on Aftermath, at least we've got his Koch-album to look forward to 8)
