Jermaine Oneal or Amare Stoudemire

who is the better player?  I think its JO, his defense is wayyyyy better and imagine if he had Nash and Amare had Tinsley.
JO > Amare

They're both great players.

J.O.: better defender, shot blocker, better passer
Amare: more athletic, quicker, stronger, stays in the post (what I want from a big man), but has more range

The one common problem is they both have a tendency of taking bad shots.

it would be interesting to see how Amare can play without Nash.  i think it would be significant difference in his all around game.

i think it depends what kind of team you have.  if you have an up and down team, that relies on quickens and speed, id take Amare.  if im on team that likes to slow it down, and pound you on the low block, ill take JO.  both great players though.   8)

JO...Don't believe the hype. Amare is good, but not great. He has a lot to work on before he is truly first-team material. EVERY player on the Suns is extremely overrated because of that system.

No, Amare is a better player, Jermaine also seriously lacks leadership skills and has been inconsitent the last year or 2.

I wouldn't say all that. I mean, 3 years ago the Pacers were a hard ass team. But look whats happened to them since then: sideshow Artest got traded to Sacramento, Reggie retired, Andrew Bynum...uhh I mean Johnathan Bender retired, Tinsley hasn't really been healthy, Stephen Jackson came and never really worked out due to his behavior, and the list goes on. You can't expect any player to be a leader with that much BS going on.
