I guess some of y'all never had that primadonna superstar at your high school or college, who KNEW he was too good. I was actually talkin about it yesterday...there are a lot of superstars who are more "Tim Duncan" and "Marvin Harrison" who are the best of the best, but don't have a hint of cockiness off the field/court, and they are very humble and modest. However, most of the best of the best have some sort of cockiness or ego to them that will annoy the fuck out of most people. Some of them may be funny or more cool than others, such as how Shaq used to be, but some of them are out to prove how dope they are, and how dope you're not.

And overall....the NBA corporate loves to push "team unity" and all that because that's best in college and high/middle school...but truth is, they know that the stars will be cocky assholes...they just don't want the media to portray their favorite stars as that because it makes them lose some appeal. Jordan wouldn't have been half as big if the news reported all the shit he said every day back then, versus just showing the highlights of him dunking on people hard.

Yeah, I mean everyone knows that is when Kobe faced a complete 180 when it came to media coverage and all else. For those who really remember, before that summer of 03, 90% of the fans and media seemed to favor Kobe over Shaq. Even at my college....most of the people out here, in Florida at that, seemed to HATE Shaq and would say "Kobe is better"....but as soon as the rape case, then Shaq trade happened, it seemed like they all jumped on the Heat bandwagon that they forgot about since Tim Hardaway left, and they seem to all hate Kobe out here.
