Yes!  I was in Glasgow a few months back and I could barely even communicate with the check-in girl at my hotel.

And the answer is in fact no. There are many different Scottish accents, prolly about 10 by my count. Same as Texas and New Jersey really.

Just about everyone I talked to in Glasgow sounded just like that dude in the video.  I'm sure there are multiple accents, but that one was by FAR the most common I encountered.  Like I said, I had a lot of difficulty talking with people over there.  Moreso than in London or Dublin.

Wouldn't argue with you on that to be honest, it's a difficult accent to understand at times.

I've spoken to girls from Liverpool before and my accent isn't bold in the slightest and they couldn't make out a word I was saying.

Even when I was speaking more slowly and shouting.
