Damn Amy Winehouse smokes heroin, WTF ?

After admitting to heroin use last weekend, Amy Winehouse and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil have headed to America to attend rehab.

It was after seeing her and Civil's father nearly coming to blows over rows over their children, Amy announced she would take drastic steps to get better. "That was the point when she realised all the drink and drugs were causing huge problems for everybody," said a source.

Amy was admitted to hospital last week following a drugs overdose. She had been taking booze, coke, ketamine and heroin. However, her best friend Juliette was reported to have discovered Amy and her husband smoking heroin once more the following Friday.

A huge showdown occurred as the wild couple's father's came to blows over who was to blame. Amy apparently stripped off to prove she hadn't been injecting heroin, but did admit to smoking it.

During the row, Amy's dad Mitch grabbed Blake's dad by the throat and threatened to "rip his head off." Mitch is also said to have demanded that Blake be fitted with a Pete Doherty-like implant to curb his drug-taking. Blake refused but agreed to join Amy on a drug counselling and treatment programme.

"They both admitted taking cocaine and heroin. But they denied they had been injecting heroin," said a source. "At one point, both Amy and Blake stripped off to prove they had not been using needles."But they now realise that if they don't get help now, they will both die young. This is their watershed, their wake-up call.

"Both families were terrified by the state Amy and Blake had got themselves in and decided enough was enough. It was the first time Blake also admitted he had a drug problem. It was a brave step for both of them to agree to treatment and their families are very proud of them."

The source added: "They are both to blame. They are both as bad as each other. But at least they have admitted they have got a problem and are taking action to help each other."

Amy and Blake are now on their third night at the clinic, and have agreed to have their mobile phones confiscated and to have no contact with the outside world.

Amy has also agreed that her career must be put on hold, despite her desire to get back on the road and perform.

She recently cancelled her Rolling Stones support slot and it's unlikely she will make the Prince o2 shows. The purple One had expressed a desire to work with Winehouse and some speculated that she would appear onstage with Prince at one of his 21 live London dates.
