UGK Has The #1 Album In The Country!!
« on: August 14, 2007, 02:12:22 PM »
Congratulations to Bun B & Pimp C!!

from hitsdailydouble, notables: (keep in mind there usually off by a couple thousand, no more than 3-5)

1. UGK - 156,133
2. Plies - 91,108 (he had t-pain on 1st single, akon on 2nd, but was still no match 4 UGK)
7. Common - 51,965 (a 67% dip in sales, god-damn!!)
8. Fergie - 50,256 (how this bitch still selling that much?)
9. T.I. - 44,592 (very respectable for his 6th week, he'll be the first rap artist platinum in 2007, just like he was in 2006)
15. Sean Kingston - 34,893 (damn, he flopped...a 53% drop from last week, i think this is his 2nd week)

So would that actually be double that for UGK since it is a double cd?

I'm not sure how reliable my souce is, but a few months back T.I. was asked if T.I. VS TIP was gonna be a double disc, 1 side TI, other side TIP...he said to do that would be a waste for him, because 2-disc albums don't get tallied as 2 sales like they use 2...he said he mines would of been giving away the music 4 free

i am not 100% though, but that is what he said...

Still can't wait to hear this. I haven't heard one song off of it (including International Players Anthem) and will be picking it up asap.

I know they have to be so many minutes each to be considered a double album. If it has that, they would count it twice. Seems like those numbers are counting it as one purchase. If it goes gold in a few weeks including the dropoff in sales it is probably counted twice, just not on the actual tally HDD is posting.

Nas' album Streets Disciple sold around 700-800k and it is certified platinum so they may still honor the double album count.
