“Funk You Up” is the introduction to the world of what the MicLordz and Sauce Funky are all about. At a first listen, the rhythm will capture most listeners and get them “movin’ their body” on all dance floors, but the lyrics are just as captivating. The MicLordz and Sauce Funky travel back in time to the days of funk and bring it to present day of hip hop and do it in style. They make it known that their new sound is a movement and all are welcome to embrace it. Producer Steve “S” Simpson who was awestruck by the MicLordz and Sauce Funky at the Rivoli (Toronto), did a marvelous job of capturing the energy and chemistry of this huge sounding five man crew. The Metalworks studios recorded track, gave the MicLordz and Sauce Funky and “S” the perfect environment to create the magic that is “Funk You Up”. The MicLordz and Sauce Funky pulled out all stops for the song calling on world renowned engineer Joao Carvalho, who couldn’t stop nodding to the beat after mastering “Funk You Up” in the most acoustically precise room in Canada. “Funk You Up” is not just a radio ready bombshell, but transcends many genres and is fit for urban, top 40 and alternative broadcasts.
