Dillinger & Young Gotti belongs in the same class as Dogg Food
« on: September 05, 2007, 10:18:45 AM »
just was bumpin this today and there is no doubt in my mind that this is as good as Dogg Food, the production on this by Mike Dean and Daz was very ahead of its time alot of this sounds like its on some rock shit dope as fuck, people will argue that Kurupt was not the Death Row Kurupt on this but he still murders tracks left and right with his delilvery and flow, At Night :o, How Many :o, alot of pussy songs in the middle but damn the production makes up for it, plus the guest appearances are kept to a minimum showed that they could hold down pretty much a whole album without the help of Snoop or many other DPG afilliates Nate, etc.

"Never gave a fuck and I don't ever think I will, I'm quick to pull out the glock and pop like pills", the way Kurupt ends that first verse is just gangsta, the beat on there is on some next level shit :o

Kurupt's verse on this is one of my favorites from him. Not so much about the lyrics but the emotion he put in the verse:

We never gave a fuck, so what the fuck we gone start?
Snatching arms off, bust and puncture your heart
Don't trip homie, I ain't get 'em yet
I'm a penal system vet, off of cigarettes
A mushroom high, get 'em back now sherm right out the bucket, fuck it
Pull it out and pass it around and boom boom up and down
Never knew such a thing could happen,
Fucking pistol whipping you and g nigga go head up wit me, let's start scrapping
I'm tiny as fuck, never bow down to nann nigga
Beware nigga, all gangstas over here nigga
I'm tired of these ho's, I'm a let you niggas know
The ho you love nigga gotta hell-a-fide blow
Listen Bitch, all you'll ever be is a bitch
All you'll ever be to me is a bitch
Can't help it but I keep my mind right nigga
The poltergeist nigga
Once or twice, twice as nice pulling a heist nigga
Never gave a fuck and I don't ever think I will
I'm quick to pull out the glock and pop like pills

yeah Kurupts delivery and flow were vicious on that one, I actually think he was consistently more dope on this album than Streetz

Yeah, not as many quotables, but really for me no long stretches of verses that made no sense or any wack verses I can think of on the whole album. Really seemed like he was more focused on this album.

Dogg Food HAD Snoop, Tray Dee, Rage and many other classic DEATH ROW songs, Dillinger and Young Gotti is NOT on the same level as many consider Dogg Food as good as Doggystyle and The Chronic 8)

Some of those songs were recorded on Death Row, because some of them are on the Dogg Pound 2002 release which was not a bad album either.

dillinger and young gotti is amazing.

my first copy got fucked up, I bought a new one from VIP in LBC and shit was already fucked up, manufacturing error. so i need to buy it a THIRD time, BUT yeah that shit is as good as dogg food.

the first half is day and the last half is night, i love that shit.

from at night on the album is on some night shit and the first half is like a day party record. and yeah, daz and Kurupt are as dope as they'll ever be on that record before they're recent downward slope.

Man Dogg Food and Dillinger and Young Gotti used to be in the same class together, then Dogg Food started making all these 'Yo Momma' jokes about Dillinger and Young Gotti and knocked him over in the sandbox and they had to be separated into different portables. Now Dogg Food is in Mr.Helsmeyers class.
