West is on the Verge of a (Strong) comeback
« on: October 05, 2007, 02:26:08 AM »

-Ya Boy
-Bishop Lamont (The Reformation)
-Glasses Malone
-Crooked I (B.O.S.S.)
-The Game
-Snoop Dogg (Ego Trippin)
-The Dogg Pound (Westcoast Aftershocc)
-Lil' Eazy? (not sure how much of an impact he has)
-Knocturnal?? not sure if hes droppin an album or not
-Dr. Dre (Detox)

These are the artists, with good buzz, that are (supposedly) dropping albums within the next year - year and a half. If it goes according to plan then theres going to be a strong comeback/impact with the West and hopefully we'll have another major westcoast tour that Snoops been stressin to Dre about. (e.g. up in smoke tour 2)

rap in general is all over the mainstream...the west is already there. nothing is going to outshine the mainstream.

When Detox drops, the eyes will be on the westcoast. I mean we got Snoop, Game (talkin bout mainstream)and them but other than that the general public doesn't check for westcoast music (at the moment).
Thats why when these dudes is ready to drop an album i think they need to focus and showcase it more to the mainstream area or else the coast will never be back like it did back then. I mean Game and Snoop has done alot but theres plenty of other talents on the west too.

But to be real the media outlets ain't really backin the west cuz of the whole Death Row thing, even when it comes to Game and Snoops music.

SMH dumb ass tv and radio station playin shit like Supaman dat Hoe or whateva the fuck they call that track. Nigga is gettin fooled by records labels for they ringtone money, I mean wheres that MIMS dude? Hurricane Chris?

Yeah I can see your point but I don't mind people anticipating new talent out west. As far as whether they will blow up or not or be successful that is out of our hands. As long as the material is up to par I'm content.
