the dopest thing about discussing this move at this board is that so many of us laker fans (such as myself lol) were always talkin about how good a fit gasol would be for the triangle offense as opposed to sorry ass JO... and now we finally do get gasol? almost too good to be true

Hell yeah. In the summer I was actually hoping for Gasol a lil more than Garnett for the simple fact that his contract is unbelievably reasonable. I wanted us to trade Odom + Bynum for him...can't believe we got him without giving up either (or Farmar).

lol, i was down to part with either odom or bynum for gasol, but i thought losing both would be giving up way too much. i was even skeptical give up the two of them for KG.

but look wut happens in the long run... we get to keep both and then add gasol?! jerry west MUST still have some pull left in memphis lol.

odom + bynum + gasol > KG. thank god the lakers front office was more patient than the fans were

This is huge. Bulter turned into Brown... which sucked... but Brown turned into Gasol... which is fuckin' tha shit. If Bynum does comeback this year... Lakers=2008 champions. Lakers/Celtics finals... all is right again.

Man you can't immagine how happy i am today. I couldn't even sleep well tonight, because i was so excited. I traded Gasol to NBA 2k8 and played a quarter against the Celtics, LMAO. Just to see how impressive is a starting five with Farmar, Kobe, Lamar, Gasol and Bynum. What a good way to start a new day, today. But you know, i loved Crittenton. Dude got skills, and he'll end up having a great career. But fuck it, you can't have a GREAT player like Gasol for nothing. If Crittenton is the price, it's a good one.

Oh, any news on Navarro? Any hope he could sign with the Lakers too? He signed to Memphis JUST BECAUSE of Gasol. Oh, and i've heard Marc Gasol doesn't want to play in Memphis anyway, and he'll re-join the Lakers.

The Lakers better win the fuckin championship now.  Giving away Crit + 2 first rounders?  I don't know about all that.  The Lakers will be tough, but I think they were going to be legit w/ just Kobe and Bynum and a good pg like farmar. 

I don't think this move was necessary, and I think they gave up too much.

I think the FO has finally understood we are in a winning now mode ... I agree that 2 1st rounders can be a lot but still we cant have a better trade than this one ... with the frontcourt of 3 players who each can grab 10 rbs night in and night out is a HUGE thing .. we have a very deep bench , lots of players who can play different positions... plus how you gonna defend that team .. you cant double three players at the same time ..
