I wouldn't call this house, but in Europe dance music never went anywhere. I didn't think Rihanna would do a song like this as she's on a rap/R&B label even though she's a pop artist. They probably wanted her to sample an MJ song since it's 25 years ago Thriller came out.

imo sounds like vocal/disco-house with a little mj sample and a few filters on the track

I'm not familiar enough with the names of different dance genres, but I do know that this is definately not house music.  Britney Spears makes the same type of songs and she is categorized as pop.

she has alot of slow R n B songs ... check out Murderer thats just only 1 song.. its a strong r n b vibe/piano , similar to alicia keys , john legend other r n b acts
