Who should replace Conan O'Brien once he takes over Leno?

A lot of people feel that Joel McHale from the Soup should take over, I think that would be a good choice.  What do you guys think?

Inside story is Leno's going to bounce to another network, start a new show, and then really stick it to NBC for booting him out of the chair.  So basically you're going to have a three way race in late 09, with Leno probably dominating on another network like Fox or ABC.

they didnt boot him he anounced that he was retiring in 5 years like 2 or 3 years ago.

Conan is replacing Leno in 2009.  Come on though, making this post takes more time than using google or youtube to look up Joel McHale and the Soup.

I highly doubt that Leno is so well liked that he's going to take so many fans away from the Tonight Show with Conan that it's going to have some sort of damage on Conan.  Conan is going to be leading in the ratings, not by much but he'll be leading.  Anyways, this is about who's going to replace Conan.  Conan's potential success on the Tonight Show is irrelevant.

I know what the soup is, so I would assume i'd hate him. However, I caught McHale on greg fitzsimmons radio show and he was a surprisingly good guest so he might be acceptable. Late night is fucking stale though, it desperately needs something new. I like Kimmel but he would be better suited doing his show on HBO or something.
