I wouldn't say that, but there should definitely be more scratching, you barely hear it now. Also, at shows and all that, some of these so-called "DJ's" have gone way too digital, they just run straight off their laptop computers and stuff.

kinda off topic, but I give props to timbaland who has some real dope scratches on NERD's (song isn't good tho) newest song.I still listen to that song only becasue of the scratches (again, nothing really special, but just dope)

scratching is unfortunately a dying part of hip hop, and most of the shit i listen to has it, but to say that ALL songs in the hip hop genre that dont have it arent "real hip hop" is dead wrong...there are PLENTY of REAL HIP HOP songs that dont have it, does that make less hip hop?? naa.  on the other hand, there are bullshit snap songs that DO have scratching in them, does that validate them as hip hop? naa.

real hip hop is real hip hop. period.
