If Rev. Wright had preached about discriminating against gay Americans or Muslims, there probably would not have been any outcry at all. That falls into the category of "respect their hateful opinions because they cloak themselves in the church."

Of course people will get more outraged when you insult them as opposed to when you insult someone else. Most Americans are not Muslim, so they won't get as mad when you insult Muslims as they would when you insult Americans. That isn't exactly shocking.I am sure if I want to Saudi Arabia and said fuck Arabs they would get more upset at that then if I said fuck Christians.
You're a hypocrit and you either managed to fail to grasp the gist of this article, or you're deliberately trying to twist shit (trickology ). Yeah, people are more insulted when you offend them than when you offend someone else, and yes that is obvious, so congrats on making the obvious statement that it is. However, did it occur to you that the fact that McCain's pastor's insults were not directed at the majority of the American people makes them not the slightest bit better? Do you actually think that radicalist hate is more legitimate when it doesn't go in the direction of one's own people? Didn't you go on whining about electing an "Anti-American" president in your own little Wright appreciation thread? And now you're trying to defend a pastor whose statements shit all over the first amendment and Thomas Jefferson's legacy. That's about as patriotic as burning a flag.

They are just pastors who endorsed John McCain, whom he has already renounced.Your lies and tricknowledge will not work here my friend.
How is that a double standard? None of those people are John McCain's pastor. That was the problem with Jeremiah Wright...he was Obama's pastor at his church and he was part of his campaign. All Hagee and Pasley did for McCain was endorse him.The only double standard is Obama preaching unity whole associating with people who are divisive.
