When this album came out, it was an automatic classic.

What a ridiculous thing to say.

serious... cd had some jams tho.

I remember my boy  bought it, we used to take the train go kick it at the mall listening to this record.

I remember them advertising the "4 new Dre tracks" in the Source with a different white cover, would have been great to hear those

in their original forms, yes  ;)
Chad posted that advertisement in the "tha next episode" topic ( the one you were active in) by the way.

"OG to BG" was one of those Dre tracks originally, even during Daz verse he mentions Dre

I think the version that was going to be on there was going to be Dre feat. Tha Realest and Tha Dogg Pound for that track, but they wound up putting Soopafly on there and taking Dre and Tha Realest off. I have a hunch though that Kurupt's verse was actually the verse Dre was supposed to spit based on his delivery and tone, kinda like that Crooked I track "Say Dr. Dre"

speaking of which, I know there were supposed to be 4 "unreleased" Dre songs, and I can only remember three of them:

"Die Motherfucker Die" Dr. Dre feat. Top Dogg
"OG 2 BG" Dr. Dre feat. Tha Dogg Pound and Tha Realest
"Tha Ho Hopper" Dr. Dre feat. Top Dogg and Doobie?

^^^^Nice information, but where did get the info?
I can´t remember reading the names of the tracks (and features) anywhere.
Please post a link or scans, interesting info  ;)

I remember seeing those tracks on the original Chronic 2000 tracklist before Dre made them take the songs off. I'm sure the OG tracklist is still floatin' around somewhere

I remember Dre made them take em off,but not the actual titles.
Interesting info.
So I guess, if the info is legit we need to add those titles/tracks to Jome´s and Es-Jay´s archieves  ;).

While most people couldn't care less about Tha Realest and Top Dogg I never really felt those Mac Shawn tracks and I still think till this day that Swoop G's Don't Forget Where You Came From is the worst DR track I've ever heard. I hate that beat.

That beat was bangin and Swoop smashed Snoop, it might be the best track on the compilation.

Well to each its own it's a matter of taste Swoop may have torn Snoop a new one on that track but I have never learned to appreciate the song. I wonder what that other Snoop diss would have sound like, Snoop Dogg/Bitch Dogg form Inside Out before before it was changed to Chronic 2000. I still keep my fingers crossed that some day someone will release those Inside Out cuts...

i liked the comp. definately not a classic, but had some classic tracks, and a lotta fillers. but there were like 5 really dope tracks which were worth buying it - albums nowadays arent better neither
sad bad true...
