John Legend vs D'Angelo
« on: April 08, 2008, 05:18:20 AM »
For me it's hard.....because D'Angelo is the best of the new generation, but i don't see a big difference between him and John Legend if we talk about the quality of their voices/writing.
Live maybe Legend is a better perfomer...D'Angelo is not a musician,"just"a singer

i like both of them..and they both have made two great albums..

theres no need to decide whos better,,but imho john legend is by far the best r&b artist out there

i wish d'angelo would make a new album though,,that would be tight

Elano couldn't be more wrong.

I have "Voodoo" right here with me. There's only one song where it doesn't say "All (other) instruments: D'Angelo".

Oh my god LOL, is this a joke?

John Legend is amazing, easily the best r&b singer there is right now,   D'Angelo on the other hand is decent but cmon this isn't even close.

I completely understand that you like John Legend. That guy is amazing and I love his albums. Both "Once Again" and "Get Lifted" are definitely up there with "Brown Sugar"! D'Angelo though has something that John Legend does not have: a timeless classic.

"Voodoo" showed me that D'Angelo is one of the greatest singers in the R&B genre to ever touch the mic. John Legend's albums don't even come close to that record!

i've never seen d'angelo play an instrument and i don't remember the credits of voodoo, that's why i've said he's just a singer

You've (had) never seen the video of "Brown Sugar" neither?

It's all good :)

in the brown sugar's booklet there's a pic of him with a piano and on the voodoo's booklet with the percussions, but honestly i've never seen him live and i don't know if he got skills (like john legend) as musician.
john legend seems on another level
