Fuck the haters, I still think its a dope idea. I can imagine a stage, set as a basement, loads of guys dripping with sweat and blood about to start fighting, then a Tyler Durden character breaking out into a song about fighting and why he does it. Would be cool I think. Who cares if people think musicals are femenine, thats just a fools way to look at it. I think films like West Side Story, Grease, Sweeney Todd are dope. Its all about breaking out into the right song at the right time and making sure the full fist of emotion is delivered. Fight Club could easily become a dope musical. Just carry on writing it and see what happens.

it's for my musicals class, any insight would be appreciated, of course I have to compare and contrast to classical musicals and relate to myths and conventions of that time but also describe how I would adapt the film into a musical, where and when they would sing, dance etc

I'll write the whole thing for you right now:

There was this crazy white guy who started this club for people to fight in because he was not happy with his menial existence and it made him feel like somebody. Then he loses touch with reality and half the time he thinks he's the real him, the other half of the time he thinks he's his version of an ideal man. Scene cuts to fight sequence in the Michael Jackson - Beat It video. The End.
