He used that the first time on "As The Rhyme Goes On" off Paid In Full.

It was also part of the chorus on "Once Upon A Rhyme In Japan" off an album by some Japanese DJ, Nigo.  Can't say I've heard the remix, (didn't even know their was one, the original had some nice production.)

Same here.  Rakim would sound like shit over Fredwreck's electronic funk beats.  I don't want producers to turn him into a West Coast sounding rapper either.

Are those the producers whose beats you'd like to see Rakim spit over? I'd like to see those four, plus Pete Rock, Large Professor and Jay Dee.

The album will be dropping by Jan/Feb 2003 and Dre has already recorded over 50 tracks with Rakim (straight from his mouth).

This would make a great cd

If you look @ Ra before his hook up with Aftermath...he was always over these raw beats...like Primo.  Now you got him over these polished up tracks like Kon Artist's "RAKIM."  I hope old Rakim fans won't turn their heads on this.  My opinion is that he should not rap over Fredwreck, Battlecat or any regular Quik beats because thet represent WC beats that may ruin Rakim.

yaeh tru but primo betta bring heat kuz his latest shits been weak IMO and large pro bringin more polished raw beats lately if u kinda get what im sayin, but yeah no fredreck, his gotta nice style of production......but they aint one bit suited for a rakim track.... i mean imagine rakim sayin sum shit like 'yeah baby, u dig the funk stacey?' lol itd be funny, but whoever be doin beats for rakim betta be on top game, even dre n primo kuz if its weak, they gonna damage they own names to for not managin to bring the best outta themselves when workin with a legend......same goes for rakim, thats why i got alot of confidence in this album

another thing is R.A.K.I.M was a dope joint no doubt, but ra's flow was inconsistant on it, hed flow alot betta near the end of verses than at the beggining where he sounds rusty, like he cant flow what his sayin together, but then suddenly near the end of verses, his like the RAKIM everyone knows, lyrics were crazy to of the track

oh n one otehr thing.......even though his droppin joints now.......the addictive appearance, 8mile ost joint n now the watcher 2....... we still got no news on him.......but atleast rakim told us all "relax y'all, its a rap".......albums basically done playaz........"2003 hits galore".......lets hope

peace

yeah I thought his flow was a little off on R.A.K.I.M. too.  The beat was off too, with those soldiers-feet SFX landing off-beat.  Maybe weed is needed to feel it.
Does Ra have a multi-album deal with Aftermath, or just this one?
