i always wondered something, and im sure u laker fans could tell me,

With all the talk over the years of who is better Bryant or Jordan, has either of these two spoke out about the subject? and whats the reason Kobe switched to number 24? is it a sly dig at him claiming to be 1 better than Jordon (23) or just coincidence.

I drift in and out of the basketball scene so im not up to scratch on my knowledge.

cheers

maybe he's doing it to be 1 better than Lebron

MJ doesn't need to speak out on the subject, he knows whats up.

I belive Kobe wore #24 in high school as a Freshmen/Sophmore and Switched to #33 when he was a Junior/Senior!
(We all know #33 as a Laker is untouchable)

Another one I have heard was Kobe multiplied his titles by his "old" #8: 8 x 3 = #24.
Kobe works on his game 24/7.
Kobe & Lamar odom together are 24/7 ...lol

I guess I can keep going if I think about it.
Not a jab at Jordan at all IMO and defo has nothing to do with King James.

Theres no way people really believed he changed his number to 24 as a jab at Jordon or Lebron.

24 was his number in high school. He basically did it as a new beginning.

^Yup...a new chapter in his career. He wanted to maximize every second on the court (24 seconds of the shot clock, 24 minutes in a half). Ocho prevailed through all those tryna bring him down, and ocho times three was the result. The only thing Jordan ever said about Kobe was that Kobe's on another level than all the other young'ns tryna take over the game. Jordan sure does know what's up. 8)

I don't know why nobody really responded with the "facts"...but yeah, this is one of those funny situations where passionate fans with clouded judgment will argue for hours, days, and years, but the two main people involved are cool with each other and tell it like it is. Kobe always says that Jordan is the best player of all time, and that he'll never be Jordan, and that he is only better right now because he is younger...but Jordan is the King. Jordan will always say Kobe is the best in the league by far, and that they communicate often and always talk on the phone. They have hella pics together, and Kobe used to always wear different Jordan jerseys. I've even heard Jordan say that Kobe does some things he wishes he did on the court when he played.

It's similar to Magic n Bird in the 80's....people would literally HATE the other if they were the fan of one...but those two got along great, and gave each other major props.
