Guillen finally got hot! ...must be on that jiuce again
« on: May 18, 2008, 06:57:04 PM »
Guillen hit 19 out of his last 38 at bats... with homers and doubles.... his average has skyrocketed from .170 to .250  and the Royals have won like 6 out of the last 7.

Guillen says he hits better in warmer weather so maybe it was just a slow start...

...or maybe he on that jiuce again

Or maybe the most logical thing happened, he broke out of a slump?

I was pretty sure he would snap out of it soon enough

Well... here in Kansas City, where we've been averagin 100 loses for the last decade.... we learn not to be so optomistic...

The last hitter we gave a big contract to was Mike Sweeney, and after signing he spent the next few years mostly on the DL and batted in the low .200's.

Then, we let Emil Brown go and picked up Guillen, Emil Brown becomes a stud in Oakland getting paid almost league minimum and Giullen is highest paid in Royals history and so the slow start really scared fans here.

Anyway, from the outside its probably easier to be patient.  I didn't know much about him before he came here.  just the steroid incident.

He's leading the AL in doubles.  You think he can get his average up to .300?

If dude just plays up to his paycheck the Royals can compete in our division because as of now the Royals are only 2 games out of first!

I bet he could, at worst i'd say he'd finish the season in the .280's
