If you say so, I never did get the difference between all these terms (Sample, Interpolation, "contains replayed elements from", etc), though I haven't exactly tried to understand, I always just group everything under "Samples." *Shrugs*

me neither actually but it's quite obvious that a sample is only a sample when they actually took the original song and use parts of it in their song as they were without replaying or changing them

best example are voice samples ... let's take nas' track made you look: say you make a new song and want to use nas sayin "you a slave to a page in my rhymebook" on your song ..then you SAMPLE this line from nas' record. if you yourself go in and say these words the same way it's not a (vocal-) sample anymore. same with a melody ..if you take it as it was or cut around it or something from its original source then you sample it.

never thought about interpolation myself..I think there even was another term I saw a few times... don't remember though
