Interleague/ Conference play....or no...

I was thinkin about this yesterday. And wonder what yall think. Which do you think makes for a more exciting finals. Lets use the NBA finals as an example. It would suck for Western Conference teams because getting homecourt advantage would be far more difficult then it would for an Eastern Conference team seeing as how the West is a tougher conference right now. But, would it make the finals even more exciting if the two teams never faced eachother during the year? I kind of like the idea. Maybe you can do like baseball and the winner of the All Star game would determine homecourt advantage, rather then records.
