The Roots finishes up album
« on: July 27, 2002, 05:38:10 AM »
Finally, a word from the Root's own ?uestlove about their long awaited LP, "Phrenology." The group's wrapped up the recording of the new album and the label has given it an October release date.

Look for a host of collaborations from Q-Tip, Scratch, Kool G Rap, Musiq, D'Angelo, Jill Scott, Nelly Furtado, as well as Queen and the Rolling Stones.

But as different as "Phrenology" might be from all the previous group efforts, it will feature a poem by Amiri Baraka, which will close out the album in the already familiar Roots style.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.
