Police say man shot lawn mower that wouldn't start

MILWAUKEE (AP) - A Milwaukee man is facing charges after shooting a lawn mower that wouldn't start.

The 56-year-old says he got angry when the Lawn Boy wouldn't work. He told police it was his lawn mower and his yard so he should be able to shoot it if he wants.

Instead, he's been charged with felony possession of a short-barreled shotgun or rifle and misdemeanor disorderly conduct while armed.

A woman who lives at the home reported the incident and says the man was intoxicated.

If convicted, he could face a fine up to $11,000 and more than six years in prison.
