how can i sample/record something and use it?
« on: August 08, 2002, 03:43:07 PM »
Hi all, I am creating some music and as an I want to record some real traffic noise and people talking to use it in a song.
My questions are:
1. how can I record the sound?
(I've only ever recorded vocals direct into my PC)

2. how can I import the recorded sound onto my computer?
(into say Sound Forge or Pro Tools)

I really appreciate any help

Thanks

well people who do this professionly re create these scenes in sound stages to record them in as perfect quality as they can get them. I suggest getting sound effects from the net. You can download many from FINDSOUNDS.com or search for "sound effects" or "sound fx" or other such keywords at KAZAA or WINMX or MORPHEUS or a program like that. You could also probably buy a proffessional sample CD of sound effects. Look in a magazine like REMIX or KEYBOARD or EQ to see what kind of sample CD's exist. Hope that helps. ONE!
