Ozzy Osbourne, wife Sharon Osbourne, son Jack, and daughter Kelly joined WWF wrestler Triple H on Thursday (March 21) at the WWF restaurant/performance venue the World in New York City to announce OzzFest 2002.
Bands booked for the first stage include Osbourne's band; System Of A Down; the new, still unnamed project featuring Chris Cornell and former Rage Against The Machine drummer Brad Wilk, bassist Tim C., and guitarist Tom Morello; P.O.D.; Drowning Pool; Adema; and Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society.

The second stage acts are led by Rob Zombie, who will perform a "bare-bones, jeans and T-shirt"-style show. Others booked for the second stage include Meshuggah, Apex Theory, Lost Prophets, Pulse Ultra, Neurotica, Flaw, and Mushroomhead.

Other bands booked for the second and third stage include Otep, Seether, Glassjaw, Used, Soil, Ill Nino, and Chevelle.

Dates for the tour start in Bristow, Virginia, just outside of Washington D.C., on July 6, and will run through September 8 in Dallas. The tour will be cross-marketed with the World Wrestling Federation. As to how the two will meet, Triple H quipped, "Ozzy and I have a cage match on the tour's opener."

The wrestler and Sharon Osbourne were asked by LAUNCH how the WWF and OzzFest will work together. "We're going to have our wonderful world champion come down to the shows," Sharon Osbourne said. "He's going to help introduce the bands."

Triple H added, "We're providing the muscle, basically, in OzzFest."

Sharon Osbourne added, "They're also going to have their own signing booth there so kids can meet all the wrestlers. And they'll be meeting the wrestlers and the rock stars. They'll be doing signings. Also our bands will be performing with the WWF on their shows too, so it's going to be a crossover."
