The only plenty of good music out there 2day which is fresh & good is on dubcnn.com  Fresh & good, barely on the radio.

Actually, at the time it was just another of the many dope songs that were all over the radio.  I was only 13 or 14 and just kind of thought the beat and hook was catchy, now I go back today and realize how ill their subject matter was with the New World Order.

maybe if you search you can find something decent, but I was making the point that this was just an average everyday joint on the radio at the time.

my bad, i made the assumption that you want hiphop to sound like that again, like 80% of the threads on this forum.

ohh... I DO want hip-hop to sound like that again.  I mean, if that joint came out now I would bump it like it was DETOX or something, but back then it was just a regular joint cause nearly everything was dope.

personally i dont think hiphop has changed that much in terms of how much quality there is now compared to before. times have just changed, different topics are cool now. to be honest i dont want a rapper rhyming about being able to break walls with his rhymes or politics or repression, i want to hear fun shit like dancing, booze and women... but hey thats just me..

i realised a few years back that the majority of hiphop is plain shit house, the only artists worth listening to (that still release shit) are snoop, jay-z, kanye west, pharell and most of the more 'pop' or mainstream artists... because they rap about fun stuff, and snoop, well he's just funny.

thats why i dont listen to 'underground' hiphop, that shit is wack strait up, i hate rap battles and dont like gangsta rap much anymore either, especially the new shit. its so boring and so fucking try hard, did i mention its boring? thats why albums like 'graduation' appeal to me... i actually think its in the top 10 best hiphop albums ever made... up there with balance and options, chronic 2001, all eyes on me and reasonable doubt...

but i guess i'm just not a hiphop head that knows my shit.

One of the best songs ever.

One of the best hooks ever.

One of the best albums ever.

Soul Food and Still Standing are certified classics. World Party not so much.
