Calling All Computer Nerds!

I need help learning how to subnet. This shit is insanely hard to pick up. I understand the 0 to 256 values and how to convert them to binary so I can assign the bits, but that's about it. All that host, total subnet, usable subnet stuff is beyond me. We are working in Class C for right now, so it's only the last 3 (255.255.255.xxx) I need to change.

If anyone knows of a good website to check out or knows their way around a network, please let me know.
