Fasho Fam..You do realize I said World though.. not US..and the article u posted factors in physical cd sales as well..Amazon Digital dominates on a worldwide scale.. for the digital market that is.Peace & Respect
I ain't fucking with that garbage Itunes, and I especially avoid anything related to DRM or any other copy protection system.I also avoid sites that have some DRM-protected files and some regular mp3-files, and WMA or AAC is out of the question.I wanted to buy some stuff from Amazon MP3, but they didn't want my money because I'm not American. What I'd like to see:A mp3 shop with millions of albums and single tracks available - mp3 format - properly tagged - choose your own bitrate, from 192 to 320.Easy to use, fast to download, decent prices, easy to sort by genre/year/alphabetically, etc. if you buy the single, you can complete the album later at discount price.Allofmp3 was such a site, but it's Russian owners set the price so low that RIAA nearly demanded U.S. gov to threaten Russia with war if they didn't take it down. As long as the "illegal" market is 100 times better than the half-assed overpriced legal market, I'll continue downloading, and buy the occasional album that deserves it.
Interesting. I recall hearing a Mr. Shadow interview conducted by Chrymes. He said he made $35,000+ off the trunk of his car. No label, no distribution, nothing. It was all self-made.
